Who can request my personal information?
ChainRift itself does the utmost to protect your information, using state of the art systems and an experienced security team. Regardless, ChainRift is required by various legislations to assist government agencies that request user information for purposes such as enforcing criminal law or laws relating to financial penalties, protecting taxation revenue and safeguarding national security.
What kind of information can be requested?
Government agencies may request a range of information including a user's name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth. IP addresses, transaction history, digital wallet addresses, account interactions and any communications received by us regarding an account may also be requested.
How can requests be made?
We will only accept and process a request for a user's information from government agencies by way of a valid warrant, or court orders such as subpoenas which require us to provide user information.
How are requests for information reviewed?
Under Federal and specifically State law, the privacy of your personal information is strictly protected. To protect your privacy, ChainRift carefully assesses each request and only discloses a user's information if the request is legally valid. When responding to lawful requests for user information from government agencies, we aim never to interfere with our users' normal use of our platform.
Will I be informed if a request has been made for my information?
We are generally prohibited from providing details of specific requests made by law enforcement or national security agencies, as this may interfere with any ongoing investigations (regardless of whether they directly affect the user or not). ChainRift does not and will not jeopardize the integrity of these or other agencies' in their investigations.
